A silent swish-swish flows through murky waters deep, under blooming lotus flowers, crocs slowly creep. Among the floating lily pads and buzzing dragonflies, look closely and you just might see a dozen peeping eyes.
But never hidden is our Billie in the billabong, for she wants to go searching for that soaring song. “Wherever is that cackling sound?” she asks and looks around. “It isn’t in the water and it isn’t on the ground.” Then—there! In the trees! Billie spots someone new.
“Koo-hoo-hoo-ha-HA-HA-hoo-hoo-hoo!” Kiki the Kookaburra laughs out loud. “Why are you making such a happy sound?” Kiki replies, “It’s your pointy scales; from up here, they look like mini whales.” Billie is thrilled. “You mean my spikes don’t make you fret? Well, you haven’t seen my best trick yet…” Billie opens her jaws and SNAP, SNAP, SNAPS!!!!! Ruffled feathers flare and wings go – FLAP!
Kiki sang in cackles of laughter and no one expects what happens after… gliding through the water so warm, curious crocs start to swarm. For they may live among the gloom, but for fun and laughter there’s always room.
